Both plants arrived in good dormant condition; the buds on the magnolia were all intact, the azalea had retained most of its leaves, and the soil in the pots had enough moisture to sustain the plants. I set them outside in a semi-sheltered spot to finish off the rest of our zone 5 winter and I’ll get them planted once the ground thaws. Can’t wait for spring! My beautiful plants arrived in a very timely fashion and in very secure packaging. I am excited that at least one of the three I ordered is going to have a variegated bloom from the buds I am seeing now. It’s hard to find Hilda Niblett azaleas that aren’t solid-colored and tending more to orange than peach or blush. I have ordered from other vendors and they all have been that way. The plants were large, lush and healthy. When we moved we had to leave our Hilda Niblett azaleas and we missed their beauty so we ordered more for our new residence. Ordered two Hilda Nibletts to place in front of several Dwarf Alberta Spruce. The plants arrived in perfect condition; healthy and packed for shipping so well that no branches were broken. They were planted within minutes of delivery and are thriving, the leaves are deep green and shiny and the profusion of flowers is awesome. I am very pleased. We got these azaleas to line a fairly shaded sidewalk in front yard. They arrived with blooms. We had to get the smaller size since they were out of the larger size. Plants look healthy. Just got them a few weeks ago, hoping they are right size and sun level for this area. Louisville Kentucky is in USDA Zones 6a-7a and Hilda Niblet Azaleas are cold hardy in zones 5a-8b, so they should grow fine in your area. Hilda Niblet is a lower grower and likes some shade so should be perfect for a border along your sidewalk. As with other azaleas, they prefer a well-drained acidic soil. I was so happy with my first shipment of these lovely azaleas that I had to order a few more. As before, the plants arrived in perfect condition, very vigorous and healthy. The first shipment bloomed after I planted them and the colors are really breathtaking. I specifically ordered this variety as they do not grow tall, and these are now growing in front of a boxwood hedge. The blooms contrast nicely with that rich green backdrop. I’m sure they’ll be gorgeous as they spread out with new growth. Just need to discourage the deer population as these tender azaleas probably taste as good as they look! I’ve been spraying them with deer repellent diligently and keeping my fingers crossed. I’d hate to lose these beauties. I really appreciate the quick shipment too. I had been searching for these Hilda Niblett Azaleas, one of the famous Robin Hill series, for a long time…. I needed a variety that does NOT grow tall, and the flower color is so unique. Everywhere else I looked, they were either sold out or just did not carry this azalea. I was so happy to finally find it at Wilson Bros. Gardens, but I was apprehensive about the shipping cost for ten plants. Needless to say, the shipping cost for ten potted Hilda Niblett azaleas that were a very generous size, was very reasonable. The plants arrived very quickly and in perfect health.Each of them bears a full complement of healthy, shiny green leaves and even had some flower buds, which have now blossomed and are lovely, just as pictured. I planted them the day after they arrived, and they look beautiful. I am just so surprised and pleased to find the exact variety of azalea that I wanted at an affordable cost, including shipping. If I had shopped at a local nursery, I would have had to take whatever variety they had in stock, but I got exactly what I wanted. I’m not sure of their deer resistance, so I thoroughly sprayed them with a repellent, and will continue to do so, as deer browsing is rampant in my area, here in south eastern New York. I’m going to always visit Wilson Bros. Gardens web site whenever I’m searching for something unusual and specific, from now on.
