Description
Extremely handsome, colorful and compact, the Golden Triumph Boxwood sports small variegated leaves of forest green and golden yellow on a very dense rounded mound from 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. As with other boxwoods this one responds very well to shearing so can be maintained long term at a smaller size. Will grow well in quite a bit of shade but the foliage color is brighter with more sun. Ideal as accents to frame entryways, as a low hedge, or in pots, planters and other containers.
Landscape & Garden Uses
It’s smaller size makes the Golden Triumph Boxwood a perfect choice for smaller garden spaces and pots, planters and other containers 12 inches or more in diameter. It responds very well to shearing into formal shapes, which are a distinctive note in the landscape, or into low hedges in landscape borders, along walkways, or in home foundation plantings. A fine selection for Asian or English gardens, formal gardens, yellow theme gardens or container gardens
Â
Suggested Spacing:Â 2 feet apart for solid hedges;Â 5 feet or more apart for space between plants
Growing Preferences
The Golden Triumph Boxwood is easy to grow in most any well-drained moist soils. It will tolerate dry periods when established and likes full sun but will tolerate some shade as well. Brightest foliage color is achieved with more sun. In our gardens, we’ve found it to have better drought, heat and pest tolerance than many other boxwood. Responds very well to shearing for formal hedges and shaping purposes. As with most all boxwoods, prefers slightly cooler, moist soils with good drainage. This can be accomplished with a 1 to 2 inch layer of shredded wood mulch or low growing groundcover plants.

I purchased the Golden Triumph Boxwood about 1 month ago. The price was good, it came promptly and was very well packaged. It was in great shape and was planted immediately. It is doing beautifully! I live in a highly wooded area with many deer, rabbits, and other animals. Finding plants that they won’t destroy is a constant battle. I’m hopeful that they’ll leave this little beauty alone. So far so good, and I haven’t had to use any repellent or deer netting. If this boxwood survives unscathed thru this summer/winter, I’ll be ordering more next spring!———————————————————-We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy it for years to come!
